Denver Events

There are two distinct seasons in which to visit Denver, and throughout both of them there are plenty of events and celebrations that will help you to enjoy your stay even more. The summer and winter seasons in Denver are completely different in terms of what is going on in and around the city and the audience of travelers are different too. No matter when you visit however, you will be able to enjoy the friendly welcome that visitors have been enjoying in Denver events since the city was first founded.

While many of the most important celebrations that you will see in the city are related to the national calendar, and include occasions such as Independence Day, when there is a parade and plenty of fireworks; and Labor Day, which marks the end of the summer tourist season and is usually one of the busiest weekends in the city. These national celebrations are marked with a great deal of vigor in Denver, possibly because the city is so overwhelmingly American when compared to other more cosmopolitan cities on the coast such as New York.

The fact that there are fewer cultures represented in Denver does not mean that the city is not culturally aware, and many international festivals such as Chinese New Year and Diwali are a major part of the Denver Events calendar, with plenty of great celebrations planned around them.

During the winter months, when the skiing season is at its peak, there are regular Denver events that attract visitors into the city from the surrounding area. Plenty of rock concerts vie for attention with classical concerts, and other cultural events during the main weeks, and there is a great film festival in Denver that celebrates independent film making which takes place in the city every year.
